Police Stepping Up Patrols Plaza Midwood
CHARLOTTE, NC– Police are stepping up patrols in Plaza Midwood after recent violent crime.
CMPD began rolling out initiatives several weeks ago in an effort to make residents and visitors feel safe. This comes after six violent crimes since October.
So far no suspects have been arrested in the most recent robbery or the shooting death of 26-year-old Ketie Jones.
Some of the increased efforts include six bike officers on patrol during the evening.
Officers are being paid overtime to patrol the neighborhood before and after their regular shifts. And a helicopter team has done numerous fly-over zone checks.
