UPDATE: Police have arrested and charged 35-year-old Parish Huntley in connection to the Christmas Day death of Frederick Handy. 
Huntley is charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE: Police say the victim is 33-year-old Frederick Michael Handy. No suspects have been arrested at this time.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD is currently investigating a homicide on the 900 block of N. Wendover Road at the Hampton Creste Apartments.
Officials say the victim is an adult male.
Authorities say the victim initially showed up at Mercy Hospital around 6 p.m. Sunday evening with a gunshot wound.
CMPD says the male was then transported to CMC-Main where he was pronounced deceased.
The victim’s name will be released upon family notification.
