Two Dead, One Transported In Spartanburg Crash

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Two people are dead and another was transported to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash in Spartanburg early Sunday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

It happened around 3 a.m. approximately two miles south of Spartanburg on Spring Street near Lee Court.

Officials said a Jeep Wrangler was traveling north on Spring Street when the driver veered off the road to the right and lost control. The Jeep then went off the left side of the road and struck a tree before overturning.

The driver and one passenger died as a result of the crash. Another passenger was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The collision is still under investigation by the highway patrol.
