Belk Bowl Attracts Thousands of Fans to the QC

CHARLOTTE, NC — The Belk Bowl brought thousands of football fans to the Queen City. The game between Virgina Tech and Arkansas ended Thursday night with the Hokies bringing out the win, 35-24.

And despite losing other sporting events because of controversy surrounding House Bill 2, Uptown was packed with fans Thursday afternoon. We talked with one Arkansas fan who said win or lose, the Queen City provided plenty of fun and excitement.

“The atmosphere is great,” he said. “Even without all the Arkansas fans here, its a great football atmosphere. I love college football; it’s my favorite sport, I watch it everyday.”

According to the CRVA, last year’s Belk Bowl brought in $16.3 million.
