Man Charged In Uptown Homicide

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A man has been charged with murder after a shooting in Uptown in June that killed another man and sent three others to the hospital. 

Following an investigation, police located and arrested 31-year-old Laquan Hoe. He was transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and charged with murder.

The shooting happened on June 8th around 2 a.m on North Tryon Street near Montford Point Street. Surveillance video showed that a verbal and physical altercation took place outside a business after a group of people were denied entry, CMPD said.

A shooting ensued that sent four people to the hospital. On Monday, July 8th, Aundrey Brown Jr., 30, died as a result of his injuries sustained in the shooting. The three other suffered minor injuries.
