ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. – The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a man was killed Friday afternoon after an industrial accident.
Officials say the accident occurred just after 3 pm at T.H. Davis Scrap Metal on the 7500 block of Sherrills Ford Road.
The identity of the victim has been confirmed as 45-year-old Edgardo Ulises Garcia.
Officials say Garcia was operating a loader when he got off the equipment to adjust something, and the machine then pinned him against a large storage bin.
OSHA is continuing to investigating this incident.
