Police: Concord Man Kills Brother In Domestic Dispute

CONCORD, N.C. – 29-year-old Mario Sanchez-Mata has been arrested in connection to the death of 33-year-old Jose Sanchez-Mata, according to a news release.

The release states that on August 3, Mario Sanchez-Mata told Rowan County Sheriff deputies that he killed his brother, Jose, and Concord Police were dispatched to the residence on Plantation Road NW off of Pitts School Rd NW.

Soon after police were dispatched, a woman call Concord 911 at the residence to say her boyfriend was dead.

Officers arrived on the scene and said they found Jose Sanchez-Mata dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Mario Sanchez-Mata was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied property.

Preliminary investigation states that this was not a random act and the suspect and victim were engaged in a domestic dispute.
