CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Hornets guard/forward Nicolas Batum underwent a MRI, confirming the diagnosis of a hyperextended right knee.Β The MRI also showed no structural damage to Batum’s knee.
Batum will miss Charlotteβs game SaturdayΒ at San Antonio and his status is day-to-day.Β He was injuredΒ in the third quarter of the Hornets game at Detroit Thursday night.
The 6-8 swingman is averaging career highs of 15.1 points and 5.8 assists per game, along with 7.4 rebounds per game this season. He has been a consistent contributor on offense and defense for the Hornets, as well as a steadying presence in the locker room.
In nine seasons, Batum averages 11.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game for his career.
