Monroe Man Arrested For DWI Twice In One Week
MONROE, N.C. – A man in Monroe is back behind bars after being arrested for a second DWI hours after being released from his first offense.
On July 29th, deputies found Tristan Watson, 24, asleep inside a running vehicle at the Jim Parker Road and Weddington Road intersection. The sheriff’s office said Watson’s two-year-old child was in the backseat of the car at the time.

On August 2nd, deputies were alerted to be on the lookout for an impaired driver on U.S. 74. They located and stopped the vehicle, only to learn that Watson was behind the wheel again.
Watson posted bond earlier that day and was released less than four hours prior to deputies being on the lookout.
He was arrested for Driving While Impaired and a felony charge for Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance.
Watson is still in custody with a $7,500 bond.
