Third Suspect Arrested In East Charlotte Homicide

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A third man has been arrested Thursday in connection to the east Charlotte shooting on Saturday that left one man dead and three others critically injured.

Jonathan Rivero, 20, was arrested Thursday for his involvement in the shooting.

Kevin Zetino, 18, was arrested on Tuesday and Adilio Lemus, 24, was apprehended on Wednesday.

All three are in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Detention Center. They have been charged with the following:

  • Murder
  • Attempted Murder
  • Armed Robbery
  • Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery
  • First Degree Burglary
  • Assault With a Deadly Weapon, Intent to Kill or Inflict Serious Injury

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night along Shamrock Road in east Charlotte. 

Jose Octavio Cruz, 57, was found with gunshot wounds at a nearby home and was pronounced dead at the scene. Another victim in the home and two others located in the roadway were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
