CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CMS Superintendent Heath Morrison is putting his money where his mouth is and pushing for a three-percent teacher pay raise in next year’s budget.
He wants the board and county to approve a proposal which asks for $43K more than last year.
Morrison says it comes down to the current salary being a quality of life issue. Some district teachers can’t afford gas money to get to work. Others are working as many as three jobs.
The Board is expected to approve the pay raise next month.
