ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. – The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 47-year-old Michael Smith for his involvement in drug trafficking in China Grove and Salisbury, according to a news release.
The release states that an investigation of Smith began in April of 2024 and during the four-month long investigation, multiple purchases of methamphetamine were made from Smith in Rowan County. The Sheriff’s Office say detectives seized over 630 grams of methamphetamine and over 30 grams of cocaine during the investigation.
Smith was arrested on August 16, was given a secured bond of $1,500,000 and charged with:
- Two counts of sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance
- Four counts of trafficking in methamphetamine by sell
- Four counts of trafficking in methamphetamine by delivery
- Trafficking in methamphetamine by possession
- Trafficking in methamphetamine by transport
- Trafficking in cocaine by possession
- Trafficking in cocaine by transport
