Second 18-Year-Old Arrested In Albemarle Homicide Case

ALBEMARLE, N.C. – 18-year-old Jamie Mack was arrested after being taken into custody in Buffalo, New York for his involvement in the death of 18-year-old Dy’Zavious Bivens, according to a news release.

The release states that on July 24, Albemarle police responded to a shooting on N. 6th Street and found Bivens dead on the scene. An investigation resulted in the arrest of 18-year-old Damani Wall and was charged with first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery and assault with deadly weapon intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

A further investigation resulted in Mack’s arrest, who was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery and assault with deadly weapon intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Police say this was not a random act and the parties involved knew one another.
