Kerr Putney Officially Sworn In As CMPD Police Chief

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte officially has a new chief of police.  Chief Kerr Putney was sworn in at a ceremony Monday morning at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center.  

He will replace former Chief Rodney Monroe who retired.  Putney is a 23-year-veteran and was the longest serving deputy chiefs on CMPD force prior to his promotion.
