MONROE, N.C. — A Monroe Police Officer is in the hospital after being run over by a suspect at Highway 74 and Secrest Avenue during a pursuit Friday morning, according to a news release.
Police say the officer has injuries to his leg, and is expected to be ok.
The pursuit ended in Marshville where the suspect shot himself, according to investigators. The suspect was airlifted to a hospital in Charlotte.
