Two Men Arrested After Fleeing Authorities
KANNAPOLIS N.C. — Officers with the Kannapolis Police Department have arrested two men who attempted to flee following a robbery at the Rent-A-Center on South Cannon Boulevard.
The officers saw the two men, Willie El’Beehard Anthony and Jamarqua Antonio Davis, attempting to place a TV into a vehicle. The suspects the proceeded to jump into separate vehicles and flee the parking lot.
However, both vehicles became involved in separate crashes a short distance away from the Rent-A-Car where the drivers fled on foot. Both drivers were captured and taken into custody without incident.
Anthony was charged with Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny, Possession of Stolen Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Firearm, RDO, Hit & Run, Felony Flee to Elude.
Davis was charged with Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny, Possession of Stolen Vehicle, Possession of Marijuana, Injury to Real Property, RDO, Hit & Run, Fail to Heed Blue Lights/Siren.
Officers later discovered that the vehicles used by Anthony and Davis were stolen from China Grove. Additional charges are pending against the two men in relation to these motor vehicle larcenies. Both are currently being held in the Cabarrus County Dentention Center.
