Discussion
The remnants of Tropical Cyclone 8 will linger over the region today. The morning commute will be messy with scattered showers and pockets of heavy rain. A Flood Watch Remains in effect through 8am for the Piedmont, some minor flooding will still be possible so take it slow — especially on the morning commute. The heaviest rain will shift to the mountains and foothills today with showers becoming more spotty as the disturbance weakens across the area. Temps will remain well below average with highs in the 60s and low 70s. The remnants of the disturbance will evolve into an upper level low, keeping the area under the influence of lingering showers through Wednesday. But, conditions will improve with drier air by Thursday. High pressure will help to bring back more sunshine and warmer temps back into the 80s this weekend.
