CHARLOTTE, N.C — Police say they found a gun inside a Sedgefield Middle School teacher’s vehicle after he was arrested on campus for outstanding warrants in Iredell County.
Investigators say Christophe Fatton was arrested Friday morning. He is a science teacher at Sedgefield Middle School.

Fatton has been charged with possession of a firearm on educational property, assault by pointing a gun and communicating threats.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools say Fatton has been placed on administrative leave. CMS sent out a ConnectED message to parents about the situation. The message said students and staff were safe at all times during the arrest and that the weapon was not loaded.
Statesville Police say the warrant was in reference to an incident that happened outside the Iredell County court house annex. Investigators say Fatton was at the court house on February 9th for a mediation meeting with a woman. Upon leaving, investigators say Fatton pulled up beside the victim in his car while she was in the parking lot, pointed a long barreled weapon out the window and threatened to shoot her.
The victim allegedly went back inside the building and called 911. Warrants were obtained for Fatton following the incident.
