Two Dead, Two Seriously Injured After Crash In Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. – Two people died and two people have serious injuries after a crash in Chesterfield County Sunday morning.

Officials say that this accident may be related to two drive-by shootings that took place in homes in Hartsville.

Sheriff Jay Brooks says that the crash happened between 1:30 and 2:00 a.m. on Ruby Hartsville Road.

Officials say the victims were driving in a Silver Chrysler 300. Officials say the vehicle ran off the side of road and struck a pine tree.

Investigators say that one person died on scene and another died on the way to the hospital.

Officials initially said a third victim had died at the hospital, but that victim has been revived and is in critical condition. Investigators say that the two victims may be “possibly paralyzed.”

A brother of one of the deceased was arrested after he shot at officers and the Coroner when they went to deliver a death notification at his residence.

No other information has been released.
