SALISBURY, NC – As a community prepares to lay Erica Parsons to rest, questions remain as to whether anyone will be charged with her death.

Sandy Parsons and his wife Casey are in jail on fraud charges. He’s serving eight years. She’s serving 10.
Their attorney Carlyle Sherrill tells WCCB Charlotte.. that might be it.
“I would be very surprised if any additional charges are brought against Casey and Sandy Parsons. I don’t think there’d be sufficient evidence, ” Sherrill says.
Sherrill says he does not expect the now completed autopsy to offer many new clues.
“There’s not much there. You can only tell so much with as far gone as she was,” Sherrill says
Investigators say the case continues and findings are still being reviewed by the District Attorney.
Erica’s biological mom Carolyn Parsons says she’s willing to give investigators more time.
“This is one jigsaw puzzle that has started in July of 2013. Jigsaw puzzles sometimes take a while,” Parsons says.
Meanwhile, she’s preparing for what will be a very difficult weekend.
She doesn’t have closure yet but says finally having a funeral for Erica will be a start.
“It’s a way to begin to say goodbye,” she says.
