UPDATE: Police say the body found under a bridge Monday has been identified as 90-year-old Ray Jackson.
NCDOT workers who were working in the area found Jackson’s body under a bridge on Landers Chapel Road, according to police. His body was positively identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office in Charlotte.
According to officials, Jackson’s car is still missing and the investigation into his death is ongoing. Police have not yet released a cause.

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Gaston County Police are asking for help locating a missing senior citizen.
Police say Ray Ronald Jackson, 90, was last known to be at his home on Old Dallas Highway, on March 5, 2017. Mr. Jackson suffers from memory loss as a result of brain surgery.
Mr. Jackson is approximately five feet seven inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds.
Reports say Mr. Jackson may be operating a Maroon, year 2000, Ford Contour with North Carolina plate CCH-2363.
