CHARLOTTE, NC — A controlled burn near the Union and Chester County line in South Carolina has smoke heading north into Charlotte.
Officials in Chester County say a 1,300 acre controlled burn is underway in Carlisle, SC. Residents in Chester, York, and Mecklenburg Counties have reported seeing a smoky haze and smelling smoke throughout those areas.
Carlisle is located just across the Broad River which separated Union and Chester Counties.
