
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police arrested two teenagers for their involvement in more than 30 break-ins in Charlotte.
Investigators say two 15-year-old juveniles tried to break into a home on Derryfield Drive Friday morning while the homeowner was inside. Β
Detectives say the suspects ran away after they heard the victim inside the home. Β The suspects were located a short time later on Tom Hunter Road. Β
Police say while they were taking the suspects into custody, another person claimed to have their backpack stolen from a nearby car. Β Police say one of the suspects had the backpack in his possession when he was taken into custody. Β
The suspects allegedly confessed to breaking into more than 30 homes over the past several months. Β Both suspects have been charged with breaking and entering and breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Β Additional charges are pending.
