Johnson C. Smith University Placed On Brief Lockdown After Nearby Shooting

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are investigating a shooting on Rozzelles Ferry Road at Beatties Ford Road.

The shooting happened near the intersection of Rozzelles Ferry, Beatties Ford, and W. Trade Street Friday afternoon. Someone fired shots into avehicle, according to reports, and caused a three car accident. Officials say one person has been taken to Novant, but no one appears to have been shot.

Johnson C. Smith University was placed on lockdown while police investigated the incident.
