CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a man stabbed his mother to death at a home in north Charlotte.
Investigators say officers were called to Hubbard Point Drive near West Sugar Creek Road just after 7am for an assault with a deadly weapon call.
Upon arrival, officers found 50-year-old Marcella Lightner Thrash dead. Investigators say she was stabbed to death by her son, Dionte Long.
