Iredell Sheriff’s Office Conducts Second Annual Child Support Warrant Round-Up

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — This past weekend, Iredell Sheriff’s Office conducted the second annual child support warrant round-up.

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated, “It’s our job to arrest and bring in these individuals who have failed to pay and obey the court ordered child support. The children are the ones who suffer from this, because of an irresponsible adult.”

Several of the individuals arrested have been hiding from the Sheriff’s Office Deputies and one individual was a fugitive wanted by another jurisdiction.

Sheriff Campbell stated the total amount of back child support owed to children at the beginning of this operation was in excess of $98,000.00 at the conclusion this weekend’s operation, the 12 parents arrested owed a total of $22,772.84

Sheriff Campbell  also stated “Be responsible for your children, and don’t leave the burden of providing for your kids on society. Keeping these types of warrants served are a priority at the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.”
