LANCASTER, S.C. — Lancaster Police are investigating after a high school student was shot and killed outside of a local community center.
Family members have confirmed the victim as 17-year-old Allen Cooper. Cooper was a student and basketball player at Lancaster High School.
Police say on Wednesday, April 26th, at around 9:07 p.m., officers responded to a call at Hope on the Hill Community Center on W. Meeting Street in Lancaster. Arriving officers located Cooper on the ground suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Medics declared Cooper dead at the scene.
