This video is no longer available.

You’ve seen the video of Ray Rice outside the elevator with his wife, then-girlfriend. Β But today, we’re seeing what happened inside thanks to TMZ. Β New video shows the Baltimore Ravens running back hitting her twice and knocking her unconscious before dragging her out. Β Or should we say, former Ravens running back. Β Because today, stuff got real. Β And the NFL says it never saw this video before.

After that video hit the web, and the Twitter world exploded with disdain, Ray Rice was fired from the Ravens. Β And the NFL having previously only given Rice a 2-game suspension upped the penalty to “indefinite.”

But Commissioner Roger Goodell also said this was the first time the NFL has seen this video. Β Even though it had requested all available video from the incident earlier. Β And even though it’s clearly security video from the elevator, not some long-lost cell phone video. Β And even though a hotel former employee says the NFL most definitely did see it before the 2-game suspension.

That’s a big difference in the tales being told. Β Even though Rice admitted to everything that’s on the video, seeing it put it in a different light. Β Maybe one the NFL would rather not have shine? Β

Our Man on the Edge, Robert Wilder, asked if you think the NFL really hadn’t seen the video before…
