STATESVILLE, NC — Deputies have charged a 39-year-old man with over 150 child sex offenses that occurred between January 2010 and April 2017.
Donald Fitzgerald has been charged with 34 counts of 1st Degree Statutory Rape of a Minor, 34 counts of 1st Degree Statutory Sexual Offense with a Minor, 68 counts of Rape/Sexual act with 13, 14, 15 year old, 2 counts of Statutory Rape of a minor less than 15, 2 counts of Statutory Sexual Offense of a minor less than 15, 13 charges of 2nd Degree Forcible Rape, and 13 counts of 2nd Degree Forcible Sexual Offense.
The charges come after investigators received a report on April 19, 2017 about a teen being sexually assaulted. Fitzgerald was originally charged back in April with about four offenses, but after interviewing the teen and several other witnesses deputies say the additional charges were given.
Fitzgerald has been placed under a $5,000,000 secure bond. According to officials, he has a criminal history that also includes possession of marijuana, disorderly conduct, communicating threats, and trespassing.
