Former Charlotte Mayor Patrick Cannon Indicted For Voting Illegally

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former Charlotte Mayor Patrick Cannon has been indicted for voting illegally in the 2014 election.  

Officials say Cannon, a convicted felon, voted on October 30th during the early voting period.  It is illegal for convicted felons to vote in elections.  

Cannon pleaded guilty to federal corruption charges on October 13th.  He was sentenced to 44 months in prison.  However, he did not have to immediately report to jail.
