
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former Charlotte Mayor Patrick Cannon has been indicted for voting illegally in the 2014 election. Β
Officials say Cannon, a convicted felon, voted on October 30th during the early voting period. Β It is illegal for convicted felons to vote in elections. Β
Cannon pleaded guilty to federal corruption charges on October 13th. Β He was sentenced to 44 months in prison. Β However, he did not have to immediately report to jail. Β
