ATLANTA, GA — A fourth Ebola patient is being flown from West Africa to the United States for treatment.  The person will arrive in Atlanta in the morning and will be treated at Emory University Hospital.  Officials are not releasing any other details, citing patient confidentiality.

Emory is the same hospital where Charlotte missionary Nancy Writebol and Samaritan’s Purse doctor Kent Brantly were treated.

A doctor with ties to Charlotte who is also infected with the ebola virus is showing improvement.  Dr. Rick Sacra is being treated at the Nebraska Medical Center.  Sacra joined Charlotte-based SIM USA in the 1980s.  He contracted Ebola while delivering babies at a hospital in Monrovia.

The virus has killed more than 2,100 people this year.
