Suspect Arrested After Appalachian State University Student Stabbed During Fight

UPDATE: Police have arrested 23-year-old Malik Simpson for allegedly stabbing an App State student during a fight Wednesday.

Simpson has been charged with one count of Felonious Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury.

Police say the incident was part of a larger fight that involved multiple people. The investigation is ongoing.

BOONE, N.C. — Police say an App State student was stabbed during a fight in Boone.  Officers were called to a parking lot on Crossing Way in reference to a large fight just before 3am on May 4th.

Shortly after arriving on the scene, officers were notified that 21-year-old Teh’Ron Fuller was at the hospital suffering from a stab wound he sustained during the fight.  Fuller is a student at App State, according to a news release.

Police believe the incident started as an altercation outside a local bar.  Fuller is recovering at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  No arrests have been made at this time.
