GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Police say a man shot his son after he threatened to burn the family’s home down. Β Deputies say they responded to the home on Freedom Mill Road just after midnight. Β
The father, Ralph Wilson, 78, said he found his son pouring lighter fluid on the couch and threatening to set the house on fire. Β
Wilson told police his son charged him so he shot him in the chest with a handgun.
The son was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Β The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office to determine if any charges will be filed in the case. Β
