CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person is dead following a single vehicle wreck in northwest Charlotte early Saturday morning.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, at 12:35 a.m. on Saturday, May 6th, officers responded to an accident in the 7500 block of Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road. Β The arriving officers discovered a GMC Envoy that had run off the road and struck a tree.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead by medic at the scene.
Investigators say the driver was not wearing his seatbelt, and speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.
