Fraternal Order Of Police Asks City Council For More Money For Officers
CHARLOTTE, NC — The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) are pleading with the Charlotte City Council to provide more money for officers.
On Monday, council members heard feed-back on a proposed $2.4 billion budget for next year. The budget includes a $22 million increase for public safety, which will add 62 sworn CMPD officers and 25 civilian CMPD positions.
The head of Charlotte’s FOP however, thinks more still needs to be done to make a difference.
City Council will meet again on Wednesday to discuss possible changes to the budget. The final vote is scheduled for June 12th.
