CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Investigators say a man was killed in an early morning duplex fire in east Charlotte. Fire crews responded to the home on Faison Avenue near Matheson Avenue just after 6 a.m.
They say heavy smoke and flames were coming from the duplex. Firefighters were able to rescue the victim’s mother from inside but Sean Fruge was pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators have not released a cause at this time. Check back for updates.
