National Campaign Raises Funds To Bail Moms Out Of Jail For Mother’s Day
CHARLOTTE, NC — Seven local moms will get to spend Mother’s Day with their kids after being bailed out of jail.
The national campaign “The Mamas Bail Out Day” raised money in 18 different cities, including Charlotte. Local organizers bailed out six moms this week, and plan to bail out a seventh Saturday.
The Charlotte organizers say they have raised $30,000 and hope to raise even more to help bail out moms.
The women are being held for non-violent offenses and can’t afford their bail.
