More milk testing required to track bird flu

CHARLOTTE, N.C, — The US government is set to begin expanded testing of the milk supply to better track the spread of bird flu.
The department of agriculture will test raw milk from dairy silos around the nation.
The bird flu has been spreading in dairy cattle since March. Infectious disease experts have called for expanded testing since the beginning of the outbreak.
The first round of testing is scheduled to start the week of december 16th.
Six states will be involved in the first round of testing including California, Colorado, and Mississippi.
