Stateville Man Stabbed During Home Invasion

STATESVILLE, NC — Police are investigating after a man was stabbed during a home invasion Tuesday morning.

The incident happened shortly after 10am at a mobile home on Park Drive. Police say two suspects kicked in the front door, and then kicked in the doors to the bedrooms where the male and female victims were located.

The 55-year-old female victim was dragged from her bedroom, officials say, but was not injured. The 43-year-old male victim fought the suspects, according to reports, and was stabbed during the struggle.

Police say the suspects then ran out of the home and headed east, possibly into some nearby woods. They are described as black males with dark clothing, hoodies pulled up, and possibly wearing bandanas. Police say one of the suspects may have also been carrying a handgun.

The victims were found at a neighbors home, where police say they went to get help.

The male victim was taken to Iredell Memorial Hospital for treatment. He was later transported to Baptist Hospital, according to officials, where he remains in stable condition. Police are not releasing the victim’s names at this time.
