Officials Seize Hundreds Of Animals From Catawba County Property
CLAREMONT, NC — Officials seized hundreds of animals from a Catawba County home Wednesday.
The animals were seized from the same property where Sheriff’s deputies pulled 2,000 opium poppy plants Tuesday. According to officials, more than 358 dogs, chickens and cats were removed.
Animal Control Officers also found 40 dead animals in cages. Many of the animals appeared injured with open sores and showing signs of neglect.
No word has been given on who the property belongs to.
