CMPD Identifies Victim Of Friday’s Uptown Homicide, Suspect Charged

UPDATE: Andre Amir Young-Johnson, 20, has been charged with the murder of Julian Ray Williams.

Young-Johnson is charged with First Degree Murder, First Degree Kidnapping, and Armed Robbery.

More information will be released as it develops.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Julian Ray Williams.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide after a man was found dead in an uptown apartment, on Friday night.

Police say the homicide occurred at the Presley Apartments on East Stonewall Street.

The call for service was received around 10:30 p.m.

The CMPD and Charlotte Fire Department forced entry into the residence and found the deceased male victim.

Authorities did not say what the cause of death appeared to be.

The death is not related to the Speed Street events, according to police.
