Deputies Charge Both Men Involved In Fight Where One Was Stabbed With A Fork

CLEVELAND, NC — A man was stabbed with a fork over Memorial Day weekend after an argument turned physical in Iredell County.

According to reports, the incident happened around 4:45pm Saturday at a home on Rowan Road. Deputies say Thomas Freeland, 46, and Michael England, 51, got into a fight after England reportedly threw a brick through the windshield of Freeland’s Cadillac.

Witnesses told deputies that the two got into an argument, threats were exchanged, and then the fight turned physical.

Deputies say England “brandished a BBQ fork” and then began stabbing Freeland. Freeland was taken to Iredell Memorial Hospital with multiple stab wounds, and England was treated for facial injuries, officials say.

Both men were arrested after being medically cleared, and charged for the incident.

England is charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury. Freeland is charged with Assault Inflicting Serious Injury.

Deputies say Freeland was also served for a Probation Violation.
