Man Injured In Hit-And-Run On Matheson Avenue Dies

UPDATE:  The victim of a hit-and-run, early Friday morning, has died.

According to the CMPD, Gregory Curran Mobley, 29, died on Friday afternoon at Carolinas Medical Center, from injuries sustained in the accident.

Tamara Juarez is now charged with Felony Death by Motor Vehicle.

Tamara Gisell Juarez, 23, has been arrested and charged with Felony Hit and Run, Driving While Impaired, Driving While License Revoked, Open Container, and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid Collision.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A section of Matheson Ave. near N. Tryon Street is being shut down as CMPD investigates a hit-and-run, which left one person with life-threatening injuries.

Police have stated that the driver failed to stop after hitting a man riding a bicycle on Matheson Avenue.

The suspects car was found less than two miles away from the scene, leading the driver to be arrested.

The victim was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, while police taped off the bridge on Matheson Ave. and is expected to reopen by 7 a.m.
