Arson Suspect Wanted In Gaston County

GASTONIA, NC — Police are looking for the man they say set fire to an occupied home on Brian Circle Sunday morning.

Gaston County Police say warrants have been issued for James Pruitt, Jr. charging him with three counts of Attempted Murder, two counts of felony Animal Cruelty, and one count First Degree Arson. Police say his last known address was on Brian Circle, but they have been unable to find him.

In the early morning on June 11th, officials say Pruitt set fire to a mobile home with two adults, a 3-year-old child, a dog, and a rabbit inside. Police say the two adults and child made it out of the home safely, but both animals were killed in the fire.

The Gaston County Police and Gaston County Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating. Anyone with information on Pruitt’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-861-8000.
