GASTONIA, NC — A Gaston County man has been arrested after reportedly setting fire to a home while three people, including a three-year-old child, were inside.
The incident, which occurred at the 100 block of Brian Circle in Gastonia in the morning of June 11. Authorities say all three victims were able to escape from the fire but a dog and rabbit were killed.
James Richard Pruitt Jr was charged with three counts of attempted murder, two counts of felony animal cruelty and one county of first-degree arson.
