Deputies Identify Victim In Deadly Union County Stabbing

UPDATE: Deputies have identified the victim in Wednesday’s fatal stabbing as 32-year-old Steven Nicotera.

Nicotera did live in the home where he was stabbed, according to deputies.

Officials say charges have not yet been filed in the case, but the investigation is still ongoing.

WESLEY CHAPEL, NC — Deputies are investigating after a man was stabbed to death Wednesday evening.

The stabbing happened at a home on Waxhaw-Indian Trail Road shortly after 6pm. Deputies say a man covered in blood flagged down a passing driver and told them a man had been stabbed. The driver then called 911.

Deputies found the victim inside the home, according to reports, and EMS pronounced him dead on the scene. Investigators say the victim and another man got into and argument, which led to the stabbing.

Officials have not released the names of either person involved, and say the investigation is ongoing.
