Two Arrests Made In Chesterfield Homicide Case
UPDATE: The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Thomas Craig Overstreet, 23, and Michela Viteritto, 18, in connection with the June 15th murder of 33-year-old Freddie Lee Herman.
Both Overstreet and Herman have been charged with Murder and Use of a Firearm During a Violent Crime. No bond has been set.
Authorities say Overstreet and Viteritto got into an argument with Herman, which led to Overstreet shooting Herman twice with a shotgun.
UPDATE: A local rescue group is caring for the various reptiles found inside the home of a murdered Chesterfield County man.
Officials say several lizards, turtles, and snakes were found stacked in cages inside Herman’s home Thursday. Animal rescuers were called to assist in the animal’s removal, many of which were in poor health or dead.
Officials say some of the turtles are endangered species, and they believe Herman was catching the animals in the wild and selling them on Craigslist. Doing so is illegal.
