NORTH CAROLINA — A Wind Advisory is in effect for Ashe, Watauga and Avery counties from 6 pm Tuesday to 4 am Wednesday. Wind gusts up to 50 mph are expected.
Per the National Weather Service, “Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.”
With strong winds and frigid temperatures, wind chills may fall below zero at times through daybreak Wednesday.
