CMS Holds Policy Meeting To Discuss New Disciplinary Options
CHARLOTTE, NC — There is a major push happening to reduce out of school suspensions for CMS students.
The Board of Education held a policy committee Thursday afternoon to focus on how to discipline without forcing kids out of the classroom.
Superintendent Ann Clark says the district is taking steps to help students who may have cognitive issues that could lead to outbursts or disruptions. Clark says mental health providers can go above and beyond what a guidance counselor can do to work with students and parents.
