Man Shot, Killed In West Charlotte Identified

CHARLOTTE, N.C — The man who was shot in a west Charlotte restaurant Saturday night has been identified.

CMPD identified the victim as 41-year-old Nelson Bismar Sosa.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department began conducting a homicide investigation in west Charlotte Saturday night.

Police said that at 10:42 p.m Saturday night a 911 call was made saying a person had been shot on the 4700 block of Tuckaseegee Road.

Upon arrival, police found Sosa inside the Tropical Bar, Restaurant and Game room suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Sosa was transported by Medic to Carolina’s Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

Detectives with the Homicide Unit believe that the victim and suspect were acquaintances and were both inside the bar when the shooting took place.

This will be the 47th homicide this year.
